Designer (Substation) (10040)
This position requires an individual who is organized, detail oriented, eager to learn and who can maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have significant AutoCAD and MicroStation experience. Experience in substation physical design including general arrangements, raceway and grounding plans and details, bill of materials, electrical fundamentals a plus. The individual will design and/or revise drawings and details under direct supervision from verbal and written instructions, marked prints, sketches, computations, and other sources prepared by Engineers and Senior Designers. Some on-site field work at substations should be expected, but will not be regular in occurrence. Requirements include an Associates degree and 3+ years of experience.

Principal Scientist (10092)
Environmental scientist/engineer to develop environmental capabilities in Energy business in Denver by assisting with sales activities and providing environmental consulting services. Strong experience and knowledge of air quality services within the Energy business is required; e.g., power generation (coal, natural gas, biomass) permitting, air quality modeling, and regulatory compliance assistance. Assist with proposals for environmental services, visit clients, and identify/pursue environmental opportunities. Perform regulatory compliance and permitting work including air permitting, air quality modeling, regulatory compliance assistance, and environmental regulatory tracking. Work to be performed independently with direction provided by project manager, where necessary. Clients include mostly power generation facilities, but can include private industry, governmental and education clients. Field work will include visits to client sites and regulatory agencies. Overnight travel normally limited to 3 - 6 nights per month.
BS in Meteorology, Environmental Science, Chemical Energy, or other physical science degree and 5+ years of relevant experience required; MS Preferred. Licensed/Certified QEP or PE Preferred.

Senior Engineer (Electrical) (10067)
Electrical Engineer with strong background in electrical power generation and plant facilities design for utility, institutional and industrial clients. Will be expected to perform design duties with minimal supervision.
Specific duties will include design and layout of medium and low voltage switchgear and motor control centers, computer modeling/analysis of electrical systems, equipment specification and procurement, protective relaying design, and design of schematic and wiring diagrams. Candidate will be expected to lead and mentor less experienced engineers and designers through the design process.
Candidate should be familiar with Microsoft Access and Office. Candidate should have experience meeting with clients and supporting marketing proposals/efforts. Candidate should have experience managing a design budget and schedule, and be able to demonstrate proficiency in these areas. Field assignments during construction and/or start up activities a plus, but not required.
Project Management experience and LEED certification a plus, but also not required. Background requirements include a BSEE, PE, and 10 + years of relevant experience.

Senior Engineer (Structural) (10058)
Senior Engineer responsible for the design of reinforced concrete foundations and structural steel for fossil-fuel power plants, stand-by or emergency generation facilities, electrical substations, high-voltage electrical transmission lines, central heating and chilled water plants, campus-type utility distribution systems, and industrial projects. Responsibilities include preparing and checking structural calculations, drawings, and technical specifications; computer modeling; shop drawing review. Typical steel designs include steel for buildings, pipe supports, pipe racks, substations, and equipment support and access. Typical reinforced concrete designs include foundations for buildings, chimneys, static and dynamic equipment, cooling towers, tanks, substation equipment, and transmission towers; buried tunnel and vault systems; and foundations for material handling equipment. Requirements include a BSCE, PE, and proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, MathCad and STAADPRO. 6-10 years of experience with Engineering Consultant firm is also required.

Senior Engineer (Substation) (10019)
Senior Substation Engineer with Project Management experience in the design of electrical power substations for utility clients. Specific duties will include managing the detailed design of high, medium and low voltage switchyards, load flow and short circuit analysis, equipment specification and procurement, protective relaying and SCADA interface design, preparation of detailed plans, and client interface. EHV design experience is a plus.
Background Requirements include a BSEE, PE, 8-12 years of experience, and consulting (i.e. design) with power delivery projects.

Senior Engineer (Transmission) (09076)
Responsibilities include: Extensive electrical transmission design experience, including EHV on power delivery projects; oversee financial performance including budget control of project assignments and indirect costs; support project teams, marketing, business development, and technical support; development of transmission line parameters, leadership and training of personnel, technical design and project review, development of transmission standards and specifications, and study preparations and reports.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering, PE certification with ten or more years of experience in the electric utility or consulting industry, and a minimum of five years of PLS CADD experience. 345 and 500 kV experience is a plus.
